A New Pie Tradition

In 2014 three South Africans opened Panbury’s, a unique gourmet pie shop and new high quality fast food concept in America. Their goal was to create delicious, wholesome pies using traditional cooking techniques, fresh, healthy ingredients and international flair! Panbury’s is bringing the tradition of the hand pie to America by recreating South African, British and Australian favorites in a new style. Potpies, meat pies, patties, pasties and cuisines from around the world inspire Panbury’s flavorful, heaping-full hand-pies.

After immigrating to America in 2009, a home-sick South African family was craving their favorite comfort food from home. One night over family dinner the Duxbury family pie franchise was concocted.The Duxbury's had the concept; all that was missing was the chef. Lauren Duxbury was finishing up her degree in Art History in Charleston, SC, when she stumbled upon a fellow South African expat flipping crepes at the Charleston Farmer’s Market. Adam turned out to be a self-taught chef and food enthusiast. After completing his Masters in Neuroscience he ditched his plans for a future in medicine to help the Duxbury family pursue their pie franchise dream. With much guidance and inspiration from Raymond Duxbury, Lauren and Adam opened the first Panbury’s pie shop in 2014, at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market in Downtown Atlanta.

The Philosophy

Panbury's pies are like a pot pie on the go: handheld, easy to eat and super fast! Our pies are great for a quick lunch on the move, can be reheated for dinner and make for a delicious hang-over-cure-breakfast. You can pick up a hot Panbury's pie from our store, or order our pre-baked frozen pies online. Each homemade Panbury’s double crust pie has been handcrafted and baked in our Downtown Atlanta kitchen especially for you. Our signature melt-in-your-mouth, all butter pastry surrounds perfectly seasoned, wholesome fillings, made from fresh herbs and vegetables, quality cuts of meat and all natural ingredients. The menu consists of traditional favorites such as Steak and Stout Pie, Chicken and Mushroom Pie, Pepper Steak Pie, Sausage Rolls and Apple Pie, as well as loads of unique tasty options like our famous Cajun Chicken Gumbo Pie, Southern Breakfast Pie, and Green Thai Chicken Curry Pie.
